I think most GPS and GSM units do communication by some sort of serial protocol. So in that case you use Labview to write software communication with the device. The device do not have to be NI at all


Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)

National Instruments does not currently make an Microcontrollers. You can target Blackfin or Arm processors using LabVIEW Embedded, or you can use a Programmable AUtomation Controller like CompactRIO to work with GPS modules. I recommend you check out our Embeded Systems Design Homepage.
