looking for Labview VIs to read/write TIFF files

Hello,

I am looking for Labview software which enables me to read and
write TIFF image files. I did a web search and there seems to be
some stuff at ftp.pica.army.mil, but I couldn't get to the web site-
it seems to be having problems. I did find a TIFF reader (but not writer)
library at http://dmg-stairs.msm.cam.ac.uk/~gb119/, but there were a number
of subVIs (such as Draw Flattened Pixmap) which I could not find- perhaps
I am missing a utility library or something.

At any rate, does anyone know of available Labview software which reads/writes
TIFF files?

Hi Bill,

You need the IMAQ Vision Add on kit. With this you will be able to read and
write TIFF files.

Thanks for the info Craig, that makes sense.

Someone was kind enough to send me some Labview code he wrote
for reading/saving TIFF files, so I think I'm all set.

Bill, I would like a copy of the VIs to read tif files.  Email to gzimmer@pppl.gov.  Attachments with extensions such as .zip get Quarantined, but .vi should be okay.  Just to be safe, change it to something strange.  I use LV 7.1 on XP.

I have some read TIFF file routines, but you have to be specific as to where to email them along with any special instructions to pass Quarantines, etc

I guess, the easiest way is to use IMAQ Functions.

Refer to this document: Saving Images in LabVIEW Using NI-IMAQ Only (Without NI Vision)

"...Use the IMAQ Write File VI located under Vision » Vision Utilities » Files. This VI will save in JPG, BMP, TIFF and PNG..."
