lvproj "blocks" vi server ?

How can I access VIs of a project (.lvproj) through  vi server from a VI that is not included in the project ?
Is it possible ?

Working with LV8.20

Hi TiTou,

Look for the TCP-IP port of the running exe (it should not be 3363 (the LV default))
And open an Application reference to this port/exe..

Hi Ton,

When running the source code tcp-ip port is 1901 and when running in exe the port is 3363 and I can get the list of running VIs... Smiley Surprised

Am I not doing it correctly ?
How do you suggest I do to get the tcp-ip port of the exe Smiley Surprised ?

The thing that surpises me most is that I never add problem to get the list of the VIs of an exe running on a RT target and now, I'm having trouble to do the same for an exe running on the same computer.. Smiley Sad

If I understand correctly you want to connect into the VI server off a running executable from within the LV development envirenment?

More specifically you want to know which VI's are running.
Make sure your firewall is turned off

And use the following code:

Good luck,

iTon

PS make sure you close the APP referenced after you closed the lvproj refs. That was something in your code that might fail. Also have exe's no project envirenment (as far as I know)
