A check on NI's upgrade advisor for labview vision development module indicates it is a free upgrade from vision 7.1.1 to vision 8.0

Deepak,
PaulMW was correct in that these functions are installed by the Vision Development Module. This is a separate install from both NI-IMAQ and/or the NI Device Driver CD. The Vision Development Module is an add-on module that installs functionality into LabVIEW for the post-acquistion processing of images. You might need to upgrade your version of Vision Devleopment Module. If you are using Vision 7.1, then you can get away with not upgrading for use with LabVIEW 8.x. However, if you are using VDM 8.0, then you will need to upgrade to VDM 8.2, which is a free upgrade.
I hope that this information helps!

Hi reut,
I am unable find to the article's listed part number for the upgrade in my database. It may be that we do not offer this upgrade anymore since the latest version of Vision Development Module (VDM) to be released is version 8.5. The best thing to do here would be to contact our Sales department and see if we still offer the VDM 8.0 -> 8.2 upgrade anymore.
You can use the Online Upgrade Advisor to see what it would cost to go from your current version of LabVIEW, Vision Development Module, or most other software we offer, to the latest version available. (For Vision Dev. Module, choose "Vision Software" from "Browse by Product Line" on the left, and then choose your current version of the module on the next page). Having a previous version of Vision Development Module greatly reduces the upgrade cost of moving to a new version.
It's also important to have the proper version of VDM for your version of LabVIEW. The most recent compatible versions are below, but the entire table can be found in KnowledgeBase 4AKC22MJ: Compatible Versions of LabVIEW and the Vision Development Module
LabVIEW 8.20, you need at least VDM 8.2.0
For LabVIEW 8.2.1, you need at least VDM 8.2.1
For LabVIEW 8.5, you need at least VDM 8.5
Also note that all three of the above versions support LabVIEW versions as far back as LabVIEW 7.1, but only VDM 8.2.1 and 8.5 support Windows Vista.
