modem and alarm

hello,

how can I use a modem for sending an alarm to a phone number??
with serial communication, i have a communication between my modem and my PC
but the modem can't compose the phone number. I have phone to technical
service of labview but not answer!!! i have phone to olitec and no solution.
my config:
PC W98
Labview 5.1
modem Olitec speed voice

Let the modem call the voice telephon. After some tries it stopps. Does
that fit for an alarm?

no, I would like an alarm which call me when they are some problems.
nowdays, the modem send nothing!!! it is not a problem of modem
installation, internet or minitel are good!!!
help me please!!

Use the modem's "AT command set" to command it to dial the phone.
The basic "AT commands" like dialing are mostly the same from one modem to the
next. For example to dial 800-555-1212, using tones, send:

"+++ATDT8005551212"

without the quotes.

There are modem toolkits that can be used with LabVIEW. Using one of them may help you save some development time. Here is a link to one modem toolkit developer:
