(netDDE) Labview/Excel: cell not refreshed

I try to set up a netDDE link between a Labview application and InTouch (Wonderware). For certain reasons I am forced to use netDDE and not more modern techniques likes DCOM and ActiveX. To get my hands on I tried the netDDE examples of Labview ie. '"New Chart Server.vi" and "New Chart Client.vi" and everything works well both with DDE and netDDE between two different PCs. By works well I mean that the client chart updates correctly. Now if I quit the "New Chart Client.vi" and open excel and make a link to the "New Chart Server" I get very unconsistent results. Sometimes the Excel cell is refreshed properly, sometimes it only computes the link once then no more even if I force Excel
to recalculate or if retype the formula. Any hint?

Could you post the examples up here? Also, what version of LabVIEW and Excel are you using?

Hello:
Windows 2000PS, Labview 6.02, Excel 2000 and Excel XP (I tried both with same results). The last thing that I noticed is that hitting the "Save" button in excel provokes a refresh of the cell and then I get the right result. What I am trying to figure out is if something is missing in the "New Chart Server" vi of Labview (in the examples folder) or how can I automatically provoke in Excel a refresh. Let me know if you have any idea,
