Hello,
This is not a LabVIEW related topic but rather a general NI - related to the (un)installation issues. I decided to remove my complete NI isntallation and refresh it with newer versions. I removed all through the "Add/Remove Software" and deleted the NI registry gorups. Yet, the CVI RTE 9.01 could not be installed "due to the presence of a newer version"!!! I tried all I could think of to locate the residues of NI components but at no avail. So I have 2 questions now:
1. 100% removal of NI components
Where to look for such resudues appart from the registries?
2. Installation of newer OVER previous versions
To avoid impossible situations, is it safe to install newer OVER previous versions? I am talking about:
Circuit Design Suite 11.0.2
LabWindows/CVI 2010 SP1
LabVIEW 2011
DIAdem 2011
NI-DAQ & NI-DAQmx
NI-VISA
NI-RIO
PS: MSIBLAST does not help at all!
Thanks in advance,

Hello,
Have you referenced this pdf yet? I believe that you will find it very useful.

Of course I have tried that 1st! There was nothing to be blasted away... yet, the CVI RTE 9.01 could not install its components due to the presence of a newer RTE!
Worth to mention would be that on that PC i had removed the whole NI software at once. On my other PC i had done it component by component and had experienced no problem...
I know the mistake, but how to settle that?

Hello,
While using MSIBLAST and deleting parts of the registry there still could be tiny fragments left over that will make the machine think there that some older software versions that are installed even though they aren't. Installing newer versions over previous versions is not a problem and could possibly fix your issue. However, if you do not have much data on your machine I would advise you to back up your data and reimage your computer to avoid any possible complications of having corrupted files on your computer.
