non-displayed controls

I'm looking at the TestStand V3.5 operator interface, and I notice in quite a few VIs that when I open the front panel, only a certain portion appears by default.  If I scroll down, however, I see more controls/indicators.  At runtime, however, only certain controls appear.  How is that controlled?

One way to hide controls is the way you mentioned - just by making them not part of the visible window. Your front panel can be any size you want and if the scroll bars and maximixe buttons are disabled, then the user can't change the window to see them. You can also use property nodes to make controls visible/invisible. If there is a specific VI that you are curious about, you should give us the name.
