on/off temperature control output from PID

Hi community,

I am using a cRIO system with an NI 9213 thermocouple input module to read temperature and a NI 9476 sourcing digital output module.

What I need to do is read the temperature with a thermocouple, use a PID to control the temperature set point and depending on the PID output turn on/off one of the NI 9476 outputs that will control a solid state relay to turn on/off the heater.

I read a lot about this and apparently the way to do it is with PWM. The thing is that I am new to LabVIEW (around 3 months) and I don't know how to do this. If someone could help me with this, any recommendation or something I will appreciate it.
