picture contol background color property

Does anyone know what property I should set to change the background color
of a picture control?

At design time: use the color tool.
At run time : draw a filled box same size as the control.

There is a simpler way,

You may not be able to change the picture control background color, but you can change the color of the panel or decorations behind. So, you can make the BG color for the picture transparent and place a decoration behind, then, you can change the color of the decoration. It is the same with the FP in case your picture control occupies the whole FP. Check the example attached.

Changing the color of a decoration/FP behind the picture control makes you image lighter.
