printing color problem

I am using LV 6.0. I have saved a LV in 6.0 in RTF format for printing. When I access the file in word, I can see the colour wires. However when I print using pixma ip1000, all the colour wires disappear. Why? How to prevent this?

RTF is mostly a format for text. How exactly do you save a "LV" in RTF format? What is a LV?

Are you simply trying to print a picture of the front panel or diagram?

I am just following labview 6.0 instructions when I want to print a file in labview 6.0. It ask me to save in html or rtf. So I choose the RTF. However I need to open the file in WORD. In word it is clear. However when I print the wires are missing.

Can you attach your rtf file so we can have a look? Maybe your diagrams are very large and the line turn out too thin to be printed? What are your printer settings? Are your MS word print options set to "draft output"?

Have you tried html instead? MS word can open html as well.

Hi, I have no problem with printing the FRONT panel in colour. However when I print the block diagram, the "wires" are always missing. The rest is okay. It is only the wires. The fileis attached.

By some miracle, I manage to print  4 pages of labview block diagram with all the colours including the "wires". I thought I have solved the  problem. When I came back after a small celebratory feast, my problem resurfaced. Since then I have not been able to print the block diagram in colour. Anyone can help? I am using labview 6.0 and windows98.

Hello!

Unfortunately I cannot be much help with the LabVIEW 6.0 version, but if you are interested in a trial of LabVIEW 8, feel free to download the Windows evaluation copy here.  LabVIEW 8, does require Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

I do suspect that this is a problem with your printer not being able to print small lines, or the way Word or Word Pad (the program opening the file) is converting the file to an image the printer can understand.  You can print these in color in newer versions of LabVIEW.  You should also be capable of taking screen shots of your block diagram (<ctrl>+<alt>+<print screen>) and pasting into a picture viewing program like MS Paint for editing.  Perhaps these programs are better suited for your printer than Word.

Hopefully this helps!
