query regarding DGPS setup

hello every1,

I am using a superstar-2 gps receiver..i have implemeted it successfully in labview and am able to get the position data accurately..right now I am trying to set up DGPS configuration by connecting the other unit into the com2 port and comparing the error between the 2(using the same labview program)...is this feasible for DGPS setup?

Hello Innovator81,

I am not awre of a DGPS setup but I don't see a reason why you cannot connect two signals to two COM ports and compare the error between the two using LabVIEW.

hello ankita,

Thanx for replying...but you cannot use the setup you suggested for dgps..dgps doesnt work this way...we need to have error correction that would be sent by the base unit..

I am not sure why you would want to do it that way.  Typically, the differential signal goes into a com port of the GPS receiver, and the corrections are calculated within the GPS receiver.  The communications from a differential correction receiver usually uses RTCM protocol.  Maybe you can give us some more details about your hardware and what you want to do.
