"AO Update Channel.vi" missing

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi! I am transferring Labview from an old computer to a newer one and for whatever reason the AO Update Channel.vi is not on the new computer. I was wondering if there was a DAQ package that I forgot or if there is a CD that I am missing. I traced the vi back on the old computer as such:

C-->Program Files-->National Instruments-->Labview 8.0-->vi.lib-->DAQ-->1easyio-->AO Update Channel.vi

Using the same method, I only found a DAQmx folder, which also existed in the old system.

In either case, I was hoping to find somewhere where I could download the software I need. Sorry if this isn't clear =(

You need the Traditional DAQ package rather than the new and improved DAQmx that is currently shipping.  There are NI charts on the web that will tell you if your hardware, LabVIEW version and DAQmx versions will all play nice together.  Probably, but if not you may have to upgrade your code to DAQmx.

EDIT:  http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/570/lang/en  That should be the latest version to work with LV8.0

Okay, that helps a lot, thanks! Unfortunately, I've sinced moved onto Windows 7 instead of XP. I guess there's no way to install Traditional DAQ on Windows 7 then? I looked at the list and the highest was XP =/

Hi,

Here is a link to the beta version that has been said to work with Windows 7, but we cannot confirm that it will be reliable.  I would highly recommend transitioning your code to DAQmx, if possible.  I hope this helps!

The answer has already been given though you should use the 7.5 version.
