"DAQmx Connect Terminals.vi" missing

I have Labview 2011. The drivers seem to have been corrupted so I installed DAQmx. Everything looks great except when I start up and LabView scans for the VIs it needs for my project I get an error message that it can't find "DAQmx Connect Terminals.vi" and later another error message that it can't find "DAQmx Disconnect Terminals.vi"

What version of DAQmx did you install?  Was it 2011?

It could be that DAQmx didn't include that VI in 2011 originally.  DAQmx has 3 editions of back-compatibility.  If so, can you get a copy of DAQmx 2014, and install that instead, and see if the VI is now available?

I qualify as Novice (if that) at the NI infrastructure, particularly DAQmx. Where do I find the Version info? Package manager seems to show a menagerie. Is there a way do list which installation candidate has what and/or search for a particular VI in a package? Right now, I seem to be stuck with Guess and Check - 2 to 6 hours in between what I've guessed, waited to install, and check! Painful and unproductive. I'd prefer a more deterministic method.

If you open NI-MAX, there should be a selection on the left side called "My software".  If you select that and expand it, it shows a list of all installed NI software and its versions.

Now that the last Nuclear Physics experiment completed (No visibility into what is going on - a guess, a run, a result) and a reboot, the NI MAX utility displays:

There is an Excel spreadsheet download at the bottom of this page that charts all compatibility:

https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/documentation/compatibility/16/ni-daqmx-and-labview-compatibility.h...

You will need to use DAQmx versions between 9.3.5 and 15.0 to be compatible with LabVIEW 2011.  I suggest trying DAQmx 15.0.1 first.  It will probably work.  If not you'll have to drop back to 14.5.1.  You can get them all here:

Almost forgot.  Uninstall your current DAQmx first.  Hopefully you won't get caught up in the loop where you keep needing to uninstall dependencies until there's no NI software left on your PC.  😫 I think the new NI Package Manager has alleviated a lot of those old issues so if you can use that go for it.

Good Luck!
