"Evaluation Copy" is displayed on 3d Plot with runtime version of LV 8.5 Prof Dev Sys, how do I fix

I have written an application and made an installer for it which also installs the LV 8.5 runtime engine.  When the app is run on other computers after the install, the 3d plot displays the message "Evaluation Copy".  Is there any way to remove this?  Why does it appear?  I am using the 2008 NI Developer Suite.

Have you registered your copy of Labview?  ie entered a serial number and register it over the ineternet or over the phone with NI..

I installed the developer suite on my developer computer and registered it over the internet.  I built my app and installer and downloaded to three other computers and ran the installer.  All three computers display the "Evaluation Copy" message on the 3d plot in bright red 40point font.

Hi john4177,

Which 3D plot did you use?  Can you post your project?

I used the 3d surface plot.  I have added controls which allow dynamic switching between color, shaded, and grayscale.  I also have enabled the 3d cursor and set its color, line and point style.  I have also added controls which allow dynamic switching of projections and show projections only, and controls for dynamically displaying the plot grids selectively.  I am dumping data from a ccd into the plot at rates up to 40 Hz.  The plot resides on a tabbed structure (third page).  The data only dumps to the tabbed page (3d plot)when it is visible (ie., third page tab is selected).  The other two pages contain 2d plots which receive the data when those tabbed pages are selected.  Everything runs fine on all plots in both the uncompiled on dev computer; compiled on dev computer; and installed on 2nd computer.  However, for the later, the "Evaluation Copy" message is displayed.  I have run the installer on the dev computer.  Could that have corrupted the registration/licensing of the cw3dgrph.ocx?

Hi john4177,

I couldn't reproduce this with a simple VI, but I haven't tried it with the installer yet.  However, we recommend that you never run an installer on the development machine, it has been known to cause problems in some cases.  You might try a repair install of LabVIEW just in case the application installer overwrote anything important.

I have reinstalled the disks that came with Dev Suite.  Still the same problem.  I have checked all of my licenses and they are good.  This is extremely frustrating.  While labview may save you in development time on the front end, they take it all back on the backend.  I wish I had never bought this junk.

Hi john4177,

Would it be possible to post your project?  Also, do you have any other versions of LabVIEW installed, or Measurement Studio installed, or were they installed in the past and uninstalled now?  What versions?  If you have every had LabVIEW 6.1 or Measurement Studio 6.0 installed, there may be a problem with a registry key.

Labview 6.1 has been on lots of the computers in our labs at one time or another.  The current dev computer i just had made so it hasnt seen anything but all of the second computers are "dirty".  Dirty seems to be the best term to use since labview doesnt really clean up after itself on an uninstall.  Where would you like me to post my project?
