"Feature Found" with the TDS1012 Reset vi

Hello,

I have ran into a "feature" (which may require a upgrade to the Reset vi) for the TDS 1012. This vi sends numerous "back to back" commands, the first command is "*RST", which is the reset command for the scope. The "*RST" command takes time to execute (about 2 seconds) which is not accounted for in the code. So I added a flat sequence to the vi so that a 2 sec wait is executed after the first command, and then the rest of the commands can be sent out one after another.

Hi Kaspar,

I want to thank you for posting a solution to a potential issue that future users may face.  Most of the drivers available on our Instrument Driver Network page were created by the manufacturer of the device.  You may want to make Tektronix aware of the issue with the Reset VI so that they can try to update it with any necessary fixes.  Thanks again.

Hello,

I found out about the time required for the *RST command from Tektronix, who said that the driver comes from National Instruments. The driver needs and/or should be updated, it does not matter who really owns it. Hopefully someone from National Instruments will see this posting and get the driver updated.
