"No Data" in MAX, but my variables are reading. What gives?

All of the shared variables in my libraries are connected and reading data real-time.  But, measurement and automation explorer (MAX) says "no data" for some, but not all of my variables.  My experience so far with MAX is disappointing.  Does anyone have experience with this?  Suggestions please.

Do you mean that your tasks in MAX are not showing data?

Can you post some code and/or a screenshot of MAX?

The traces are showing "No Data", which upon further study, means "No NEW Data".  However, some of the traces show up as "Null" when I move the cursor over them.

Capture.JPGThe distributed System Manager shows data being collected in the Null traces.  But MAX doesn't display it.

Check the setting for those variables to ensure the deadband is not prohibiting updates durring the time you are looking.

If the setting are not the problem then check your system event viewer to see if there are any errors.

I have seen security settings forced by the IT group get in the way of retrieving logged data.

makes ure you have privledges and shut-off all security if nothing else seems to help.

I have no deadband on my variables (it's greyed out), I will check for errors next chance I get.  It's definitely logging and displaying some values.

This sounds familiar but unfortunately the customer pulled the plug on the work to find the root of the issue after we were able to show that everything worked fine as long as the operator logged into a privldged account and the wire to the "IT" network was pulled.

As far as i got, I could see that some type of secuirty audit type stuff was happening about the times the logging would stop.

So they plug the cable in in the AM, log-in, pull the plug and run all day without issues.

So that is all I can do to help you at this point.

If you get farther and find something that explains this, please post back.

Just trying to help,

I searched for this problem and found my own thread.  yay.  I am now having the same problem on a different computer with a different anti-virus program.  I would like some assistance in resolving this issue.  Does anyone know how to get the data that is positively reading, from the DSM to MAX?  It is set to log and most of my data does log and is viewable in MAX, just not all, for some reason.
