"vi analyzer" missing

I was at recent Labview User Group meeting where they talked about using the VI Analyzer to improve one's programs.  When I ran my Labview 8.5, I couldn't find it in the menu under "Tools".  I then shut down my Labview and reinstalled Vi Analyzer 1.1 from my toolkit CD.  Unfortunately, it still isn't listed in my menu when I ran Labview again.  Is there an additional step that I'm missing to use this tool?

It is part of the Productivity Toolkit, which is available with the Developer Suite, unless purchased seperately.

Which version (Pro, Full, Dev Suite) do you have?

See list of toolkit:

I too have the developers suite. In 8.5 the VI Analyzer is missing. I do have it in 8.2. I also have versions 8.0 and 7.1 on the same computer. I know one fix for this is to uninstall the toolkits and reinstall them. That will make them available in 8.5 but not in 8.2. I am looking for a document that describes how to make them available in all versions but am having problems finding it on this site. I do know it used to be available because I used it in the past. I'll keep looking and post it if I find it.

I would call NI support.  It could be something as simple as the activation (serial no?)..

If you did a full install, it should be there..

Edited Portion:

I just read GovBob's reply...  Sounds like there might be a bug...

Here is a link that might help. I used it  for 8.0 but I am not sure it is still valid for 8.5. Luckily I''ve got an NI rep coming to visit late this afternoon and I'll discuss it with him.

I found this comment in the readme file of the toolkit CD.

If you are using the VI Analyzer Toolkit 1.1 with LabVIEW 8.5.x, install the patch located on ni.com Drivers and Updates

I went looking for the patch and found this dated from 2004 and refering to LV 7.1. The question is if it is still valid for LV 8.5?

Thanks for the info the in the above link was one that went to this NI link which works here as well, but all in all this is costing me over 1/2 hour per machine that could have been taken care of in the install itself. Thanks again NI for letting me know you think my time is so valueless.

I received this answer from NI support, applied it and now I have the Vi Analyzer tool:

"You can install VI Analyzer 1.1 to LabVIEW 8.5 only if it has not been installed for a previous version of LabVIEW on the machine.  To install the VI Analyzer for LabVIEW 8.5, you will need to uninstall the toolkit for 8.5, then install it to the LabVIEW 8.5 directory.  This step is important, since the installer will default to the 8.2 directory and you will have to choose to change the directory to the LabVIEW 8.5 directory to use the Tools >> VI Analyzer tools.  If you are only using the VIs, then you can copy the analyzer folder from the LabVIEW 8.2 directory >> vi.lib >> addons directory.  This will allow you to use the VIs in 8.5, though you will need to uninstall and reinstall to use the analyze VIs or Show Results Windows tools from the tools menu.  "
