Hello bballE,
The reason that you are not seeing your device in Measurement and Automation Explorer is because DAQmx Base devices have their own configuration utility. It can be found by going to Start>>Programs>>National Instruments>>NI-DAQmx Base>>Utility>>C Interface>>NI-DAQmx Base Configuration Utility. Also, it is a good idea to take a look at the NI-DAQmx Base 2.x Getting Started Guide. This will help you to setup your device and get everything running. Please let me know if you are still experiencing problems.

Hello Again,
I think I have found my problem. When we purchased the NI 9211 and NI 9161, we also purchased another NI 9161 but instead used the NI 9162 carrier. When I plugged the NI 9162 carrier into my computer rather than the NI 9161 carrier, the program works! It is not working with the NI 9161. Do you know why this is? Also, when I run the device, it takes a HUGE amount of memory to run. I ran it for a few minutes this morning and it already has taken 42 GB of memory! We had this problem two years ago when we furst purchased the NI devices, and our company decided to stop using them until now. I'm trying to use the NI devices to monitor the temperature for three of our machines.
Thanks for the help,
bballE

Did you try using the NI-DAQmx Base Configuration Utility? The 9162 works because it is compatible with NI-DAQmx, which I am assuming is what your program was originally written with. If you would like to use the 9161 then you will have to change your tasks to NI-DAQmx Base, which is explained in that KnowledgeBase article I mentioned. Also, if your program is taking up a large amount of memory it is most likely because you have an open reference somewhere that has not been closed. Could you attach a screenshot of your code so that I could see where the problem might be occuring?

I am also suffuring from a rapid flashing green LED light on my USB-9161 device. I've read over the form and uninstalled and reinstalled NI-DAQmx Base 2.2. I'm runing labview 2009. My device shows up in other prgrams like DataLogger, but not in labview. It is not found in MAX. I even have NI Device Manager running. What am I missing?
