read .vi files

Is it possible to view .vi files without any labview software. I do have the labview runtime engine, but need to view the .vi files.

Yes, you can install the LabVIEW player.

For more information, check this link. Download options are at the bottom of that page.

Of course there are limitations with the player that the VIs need to be signed. To generally open VIs, you can install the evaluation version, which expires after a while.

If this is for personal use, you can also get the LabVIEW student edition if you qualify. It is a terrific deal at under $70, including book.

Will the evaluation version let me view unsigned VIs? or is it both the player and complete evaulation version that will let me view only SIGNED VIs?

The evaluation version has full functionality. The VIs don't need to be signed.
