ok usb create is simply this: you download this program, it will use the usb and put files on it, you then stick it to your target PC, you load from USB and it will do a list of things, format etc and see if it is compatible with your computer
then after has succeeded then you will have to boot from c drive as it has reformatted to FAT32 system,
for me all goes well but when i load from the c drive after these steps, it then gives me the error message...i have done this many times and still errors

Sounds like you have a bad hard drive or a bad computer. You would need to run a disk analyzer program on your hard drive. It might show that the boot sector is corrupt, in which case you would have to replace the hard drive. If you don't have a disk analyzer, it would be a fairly simple matter to just replace the hard drive and try the USB thingy again.

I think it is possible your hard drive could be bad or there could be a problem with the software you are using. If you intend to LabVIEW RT O/S on your desktop PC, follow the directions found in the following two documents.

What do you mean "even if windows is reformatted". You don't reformat windows, you reformat the hard drive. You can reformat the hard drive until the chickens come to roost, but if you hard drive is bad, it will never boot. Replace your hard drive.

Hi Chris,
I am a beginer. I have a Dell Optiplex 760 with Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400@3.00GHz with 1.93GB 2.99GHz RAM. The network adapter is Intel(R) 82567LM-3 Gigabit Network Connection.
I have NI Developer Suite 2011. I use LabVIEW2011.
Other things I have:
LV Real-Time Deployment Option
FPGA Deployment Option
LabVIEW Real-Time Deployment License for Standard PC's- ETS RTOS
NI PCIe-7841R Virtex-5 LX30
I would like to setup this PC to a real-time target. And another Dell Optiplex 760 as a development computer. Is this doable?
I cannot get a definate answer from NI UK support team quickly. Could you help?
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
Qing
