remove runtime 7.1.1 and install runtime 7.1

My system has Labview 7.1 and I also installe 8.5 (so both are on my system) and they both seem to work.  When I load an application that build and distributed with Labview 7.1 it doesn't run; error= "Executable version (7.1.1) doesn't match resource file (7.1).  Check your configuration."  I go to add/remove programs ni software and see that Run-time 7.1.1 is installed.  I try installing Run-time 7.1 and get "Installation aborted.  A higher version of this product is already installed."  If I try to uninstall Run-time 7.1 using the add/remove program tool, I get: "The following product(s) could not be removed.  The following require the above product(s). NI LabVIEW 7.1", (and 15 other NI programs).  I really, really, don't want to have to remove all of them, and then reinstall.

What I want to be able to do is simply either have two version of the runtime or delete 7.1.1 and replace it with 7.1.

Any ideas?

Hi John

This is a known problem. See the knowledge base article here.
All you have to do is repair the existing 7.1.1 run-time installation.

Daniel, thanks!  That looks like it'll do the trick.  I've got to wait to get the 8.5DVD back so I can give it a try.  I'll let you know.
