resetting an intensity chart?

For the life of me, I can't seem to be able to reset an intensity chart by providing an empty array to the History Data property or Resetting it to default, unless I do write something to it afterwards. Using "Synchronous Display" doesn't help.

Why would I need to do that?

Can you provide more detail, maybe even a simple example program. What is your LabVIEW version?

(Seems to work just fine in LabVIEW 2010)

LV 2011 but it's the same in LV 2010.

I am attaching a VI that shows the problem.

Oddly enough, it seems that this is due to my modification of the Intensity Chart color scale.

It is actually not due to the modified Color Table. It is the update mode. I have chosen "Sweep Chart" and that apparently prevents the Chart to be cleaned up when resetting the History Data...

Sounds like a bug to me!

Interesting. I agree it looks buggy.

It's not interesting, it is annoying!

Anyhow, would somebody please convert this post into a bug report (now that I think about it, I have had problems with Sweep Chart since after LV 7.1)?

I have added a note in the monthly bug thread. Hopefully we will get a CAR# assigned. 😄

altenbach and X,

I took at look at the code and played with it a little. This does look buggy and will be filing a CAR.

I'd like suggesting upgrading this bug to "critical", as the "Sweep Chart" mode is the fastest (requiring the least redrawing) and having to use another one can slow down things to the point of making realtime data display impossible.
