rotate cursor in graph

Hi,

I am a newbie for Labview. I am using Labview 8.2. I want to detect the peaks ( in realtime )in XY graph, mark them dynamically with cursors  ( each cursor will display the "y - axis" value as well as a particular name ( to be picked up from database or external file , depending on the X-axis value ...X axis is time).
Cursor is displayed horizontally. As the peaks are very close to each other , these cursors are overlapping on each other. To avoid this, I want to rotate these cursors by 90 deg, so that they are displayed vertically.

Hope , I am clear with my querry.

Nilesh,

You can try using the cursor properties for the same. Please see the snapshot and the VI attached.

Unfortunately, the cursor text is not passed through as a reference; so, you can't get to a vertical arrangment property.

Might I make another suggestion though:  try using annotations (new to 8 or 8.2 not sure).  The annotations are very similar to cursors, but the label can have an offset programatically controlled.  You can also use an arrow to point to the feature.  By doing this, you can prevent them the text from overlapping.

Through that is not possible, you shift a cursor name slightly to the right of the cursor point, by giving spaces before the cursor name in the cursor legend

It was available, Partha

I remember that property being accessed a bit differently in LabVIEW 7.1

This is an example of how to do advanced cursor tasks in pre-LV 8.

This thread is an old collection of interesting threads that includes the above plus many others.
