That will work but an even easier way is to save a VI with a .vit extension. This is a VI template and every time you open a template, it creates an new instance. No need to do any copying to a different name and then deleting.

Yes, you are correct except when exiting or quitting the program, it will complaint to save (the * effect). My method does not.
