running daq mx task in labview evaluation

I am currently learning to use the Labview 2013  evaluation software and Measurement & Automation Explorer v 5.5.

I first created a voltage input task for a simulated PXIe-6363 within MAX.

I want to use this task in Labview so I can inject signals into a simulated PXIe-6363.

I was expecting to see a DAQmx button within the Measurement I/O Functions pallete in Labview but it's no there.

What am I doing wrong?

Prodrig,

Did you install DAQmx driver after installing LabVIEW? If so, just reinstall DAQmx driver and you should be fine. There is an installation order you need to follow.

For your reference.

Josh,

Thanks for your response.

I tried reinstalling the DAQmx driver and rebooted for good measure.

Still no luck.

I am going to remove everything and reinstall from scratch.

1. Labview 2013

2. DAQmx 9.8

Is this the correct order?  Am I missing anything?

hmmm. The only other possibility is if your measurement I/O palette is hidden. That doesn't sound likely since you mentioned that you could see mesaurement I/O in functions palette. You can verify by pinning the functions palette, go to "Customize", then "Change Visible Palettes"

Perhaps we need to also define what you mean by "DAQmx button". You should see DAQmx primatives/functions in the measurement I/O section. You will not see the same task functions you see in MAX.

Another thing you can verify is to run a shipping example. Go to Help >> Find Examples >> Hardware Input and Output. Do you see the DAQmx folder? if you do, try and see if you can run any of the examples.

Otherwise, the finaly thing you can check is to do custom reinstall of the DAQmx driver and make sure LabVIEW 2013 is listed in the supported software list.

Hope this helps.

Forgot to also add. Yes, your installation order is correct. Those are the only items you need installed for this particular situation.

Ok, I reinstalled Labview (eval) 2013 and DAQmx 9.8.  I still do not see DAQmx icon in Functions>MeasurementI/O pallete.  What next?

Could you also give us a screen shot of MAX with the software tree expanded? Also, can you run any of the DAQmx shipping examples per my previous post?

One more thought, if you hold down on Ctrl and press spacebar (quick drop), and typing in DAQmx in the search box that pops up, do you see DAQmx functions listed in the box?
