runtime license Computer Crash

Just a quick question.

I have a computer that runs a stand alone labview application that uses the Vision runtime license

But the computers motherboard crashed and now the computer is going in for repairs.

If the computer can be fixed the runtime license should still be usable.  But if the computer needs to be replaced, do I need to purchase another license or is there a way to use the old license on the replacement computer.

Thanks in advance for any information.

There's a way to transfer the license, but forget what the steps are.  Contact NI - they're good at this type of thing.  🙂

Generally you get several activations for each license you have.  You are expected to only be using it on one PC at a time and the other uses are explained in the license agreement.

If you try to activate and it fails, that's when I'd contact NI and explain the situation, they are usually pretty good about this type of thing.

I would actually call first so there isn't any doubt where the licenses are.  Retire this computer appropriately.
