saving vis

Why am i getting a pop asking me whether i want to save changes even when i have not even opened the vis?

If you opened a vi, it opens it's sub vi's.  If you opened it in a new version of LV or changed something, then the references to those VI's might have changed.  Those reasons could cause LV to make you save them all again.

I'm confused, so you didn't open any vis?  Or are you saying that you didn't open a VI that has links to those vis?

Are you describing something that happens at the project level?  ie: you open a project , but not the vi's and it asks if you want to save when you close the project?

It's not a matter of whether you actually opened the subVI's as in view their front panel and block diagram.  If they get loaded into memory because their icon is part of the main VI that you opened, then it gets updated to the latest version and have thus changed in memory and will ask if you want to save it when you close the main VI.  This will even happen for subVI's of subVI's on down the call chain.
