scilab

Following Grant M's suggestion, I got rid of the two versions of Scilab I had on my machine (4.1.2 and 5.0.3) and reinstalled 5.0.3, and now things are working (with LabView 8.5).  Thanks!

Hello Alan,

I am not sure what is going on.  I have never encountered this behavior before.  What version of the LabVIEW to Scilab Gateway do you have?  You can determine this by viewing the Gateway readme file in your LabVIEW installation directory.  Version 1.1 is the latest.

If you have Dependency Walker installed on your system, you could try analyzing ScriptScilab.dll located in the <LabVIEW>\resource\script directory.  Perhaps it can clue you in to a problem on your system.

The only other thing I can think of at this time is to have you post the ScriptScilab DLL here so I can try it on my system.  Perhaps we can investigate using some sample debug executables to see what is going on after that.

I too am having the same problem as Alan where I get the failure to load followed by the 1046 error.  I am using Labview 8.6 along with the latest stable SciLab download and the latest gateway download.

I just downloaded and installed the latest daily snapshot and everything works fine now.  Whatever it was appears to be fixed in the latest Scilab version (but not the stable version)

I also just downloaded the lastest nightly build and the problem is fixed.

Thanks

I have some mixed experience now with LabVIEW 8.6 and Scilab 5.0.

i)  On my PC, I had to install an unstable build of Scilab (5.03-1312263169), but then the gateway worked.

ii)  I also just purchased VMware Fusion and Windows for a Macbook computer.  There, I could run separately LabVIEW 8.6 and Scilab 5.0.3 and also the unstable build.  But I was not successful with the gateway.

I got a first error message saying R6034:  An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.  This was then followed by a Labview error (1046) that it cannot initiate the script server.

What version of Windows are you using?  XP SP3?  Vista 32-bit?

For the version on my mac, it's XP-SP2.  I think that's the same on the version that works, but I'll check.  Should one try going to SP3?

Okay, I am running XP SP2 here so that shouldn't be an issue.  Let me ask my contact at Scilab to see if he has seen this problem.
