Hello,
I have a SCXI1001 Chassis, with wheastone bridge modules, thermocouple conditioner modules, lvdt modules and voltage input modules. I have been using it for long time, but actually, up to date, never needed to use the raw voltage input module (1180 and accessory).
Today is the day I need to acquire temperature and voltage, but... I cannot configure the scxi chassis!
Voltage input module is in slot 4, and when auto-detecting will not detect it. But also, if I try to set it manually, that is, open the listbox and select it... it won't appear in the listbox!
How do I configure 1180 module?
Thank you in advance.

Hello muks, thanks for your answer.
I've checked your links, useful. But still can't manage to undersand how to reffer to the ai channels on the block in the .vi.
Say, for example, I connect a voltage signal to pins 1 (GND) and 4 (AI8). Then, in the physical channel listbox, I can browse it and see my PCI (with a list of many channels), and each of the modules, with a list of their channels.
How can I relate the channels listed below the PCI to the pin 1-4 AI8? Where do I find this information?
Thanks, and regards,
usuario

Hi usuario,
As it it said in the document referenced by muks, "[...] For the unused connections that you access through the SCXI-1180, you can reference them exactly as if they were normal DAQ channels." Therefore, you should check your DAQ card pinout in order to check which pins are related to the physical channel you are using.
You can check your the pinout by going to Start >> Programs >> National Instruments >> NI DAQ >> NI DAQmx Help and then navigating to NI-DAQmx Device Terminals Help >> DAQ Devices.
Hope this helps!
