Hello Albert,

These are older examples which require the NI SoftMotion Development Module. I think these two links will do a better job of explaining the difference than me.

Let me know if this makes sense.

Thanks for your answer. I don't finish to understand the exact steps that i have to follow to open the example , i understand that they are two different modules , so i have to :

  1. When installing software onto your target make sure to select LabVIEW NI SoftMotion Module, but do NOT select LabVIEW NI SoftMotion Scan Engine Support.
  2. Open your NI SoftMotion Development Module 2.x application and it will run without further modification.

These are the steps that i have to follow? Uninstalling Scan Engine Support from my computer's Labview ?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Albert

Hello,

That is referring to the software installation on your target (cRIO or RT target of some sort). Do not make those changes to your development PC.

You will not be able to open those examples as you do not have the SoftMotion Development Module as this is a legacy product. It has been replaced with new features in the Soft Motion Module.

The KB describes how to change a VI developed with the old module to use the new module.

Sorry if I wasn't very clear. If you are starting out new with Softmotion you probably don't need to worry about the softmotion development module.

Best Regards,

Thanks again for your quick answer. The fact is that i am really interested on that exact example , as i am using an 9505 and trying to do a position control with two axis , so is exactly what i want to do. Isn't there any way to see that example or an updated version for the current software ?

Thanks!

Regards,

Albert

Hello,

Unfortunately, I cannot find an updated version and I have not been able to track down the original.

Looking at the examples, it appears that 'Servo Drive (9505 & 9401).lvproj' would be the closest to that particular example.

I hope this helps

Nick
