sound output not working anymore

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I've been working with Sound Ouput palettes since a few weeks and everything was working well, but now something happened and I can't hear no sound coming from my VIs.

This problem occurs even if I try to play LabVIEW examples such as "Generate Sound". Speakers work correctly, infact other programs such as windows media player are able to play sounds.

I have Windows 7 and LabVIEW 2013... Does anyone know which could be the problem??

may be device selection changed.

Try with the below Express VI which is avilable in Sound VIs.

Hello, still having the same problem... The only device connected to the PC is Realtek Speakers (device 0). When I test the device the volume of LabVIEW is activated (green bar), but in order to effectively hear a sound even the speakers should be activated (in the Mixer volume a green bar should be visible both under "LabVIEW" and under "Speakers"). In Speakers properties the box "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" is checked. Cannot find which is the problem, please give me some other suggestions... Thanks!!

Please attach your VI -- we cannot "run" a Picture.  With your actual code, if we don't hear a sound, we can "fiddle" with it and (I hope) get it to work, then tell you what we did.

Attach your VI, please!

The problem exists independently of what there is inside the VIs... It is just the output sound part that doesn't work; for example even the "Generate Sound" VI from the examples doesn't work

I've installed another version of LabVIEW and now it works... Probably there was a problem with that
