speed measurement

Hello,

I'm new to Labview and trying to do something which seems quite simple but having trouble getting it to work or finding any examples.

I'm trying to measure speed using a couple of IR diodes and I just want to time between the breaking of the first beam and the breaking of the second.  The interval will be around 0.2 seconds, and the sensor voltages may be a bit noisy.  I have a PCI-6010 with  couple of counters on it and various AI channels but can't quite work out how to do this. 

Does anyone have any suggestions?

i think you can re route one of the analog input channel to read it as a pulse signal. this could be effective one, check the forum or NI website how to reroute the channel, this routing  will be done by software, i will check it out and come back, i dont know wheather that works for your application, i  will try and reply you back.
