starting compilation

While compiling my FPGA board PCI 7811 , I was stagnated at status :starting compilation. I waited for 1 hour but it donot move to next step. I am using fpga card first time. Please suggest , where i am doing wrong.

how much time it takes to compile a siple profram to make one digital output high.

Does the whole computer freeze up or just the NI software? The only thing that I can think of is that your FPGA/LabVIEW program may have become corrupted.  You might need to un-install an re-install the software.
