The function node does have a mini C compiler sitting behind it so you can do a lot of things with it, so it might be possible. But I would ultimately wonder about whether it would be worth the effort. The main places where I have used function nodes is where I have a client that has some pet algorithm that they have written in C and it makes them feel all warm and fuzzy to have a window where they can see their code entered in verbatum.
