I assume that your device is not supported by NI-DAQmx.
Run MAX and check under "Devices and Interfaces">>"NI-DAQmx Devices" if you see your board. If not, then your board is only supported by the "Traditional NI-DAQ" ("Devices and Interfaces">>"Traditional NI-DAQ Devices") and the DAQ Assistant will show this message you're describing (no supported device found).
You said that you've created a virtual channel, but that was for the traditional driver.The DAQ Assistant works only with NI-DAQmx supported boards.
