In order to see the TCP\IP resources you should be on the same subnet and make sure you're not blocked by a firewall. See if you can ping the resource. To make sure the problem is in the network, you should try connecting the resource directly to your computer using a cross-cable and see if you can access it. If all else fails, you can reset the unit back to it's factory defaults and then when you connect it directly to your computer you should be able to see it. Keep in mind that this action will remove all settings, programs and so on.

hello tst

i connected the pc to the equipment via a cross cable
each one recognizes the other, i ping each other..looks ok.

but still i dont see the TCP resource...

the equipment i connected is a window based system, so actually
i conected to pc's back to back.
is there a question of TCP Server/Client?

Did you go to MAX>Devices and Interfaces and select Create New>VISA TCP/IP Resource? You then have to pick whether it's a VXI-11 Lan Instrument or raw socket. If you pick VXI-11 and the instrument does conform, you can browse among instruments detected. Otherwise, you have to enter the IP of the instrument.
