Have you read the documentation? Have you had any formal LV training?

To learn more about LabVIEW, I suggest you try searching this site and google for LabVIEW tutorials. Here and here are a couple you can start with. You can also contact your local NI office and join one of their courses.

In addition, I suggest you read the LabVIEW style guide and the LabVIEW user manual (Help>>Search the LabVIEW Bookshelf).

Mike is a fantastic instructor...   Very knowledgeable.. 🙂

What I have done in the past is create a simple "Queued State Machine" where each "state" was a complete test to run. With a simple GUI that allows the end user to select what "tests" they want to run in what order.

I'm currently working on our 3rd generation (we call it a test framework).  In some regards it's like TestStand, but tailored to our needs and much much simpler to use; especially the code module interface, and the deployment tool (deploying with TestStand is usually a big headache).  Creating the deployment tool has actually been the most challenging part of the project.  It's a very large project, comprising several hundred VIs.
