Has your Windows 10 PC ever had an earlier version of LabVIEW, such as LabVIEW 2016, installed?  I have reported, and NI has confirmed, that LabVIEW 2017 will not install properly if LabVIEW 2016 is also installed.  However, I've successfully installed LabVIEW 2017 in two circumstances -- as the first (and only) version of LabVIEW on Windows 10, and installing on Windows 7.

Hi Gugas,

Can you describe what you mean by "really bad, like the program doesn't run as it should"?

Also, with regards to your opening post, I wanted to check that you saw that LabVIEW during installation runs one main installer, which has a progress bar showing the number of packages/components installed, and also separate installers for each component which pop up one at a time and install separate pieces of the entirety of LabVIEW + packages/modules.

With regards to the 5 hour part - I think it takes several hours on my workstation, which has pretty solid specs. It is running Windows (and LabVIEW) on a spinning hard-drive, but it's only 4 or so years old and apart from the graphics card is reasonably comparable to your machine. Don't get me started on MATLAB installation times!

Hi cbutcher,

I mean, that program seems to be bugged, that I could run it once without activate it, and then it crashes, and after the crash, when I tried to run the program again, the licensing wizard popup appear before the program start, As it should, after I fill in the serial number input, and when I clicked into enter activation codes the wizard stop work, I mean it don't close and windows do not popup any error message in the wizards execution but the buttons of the Application appears don't work, I tried to click into evaluation button but the following message appears:
"There was a problem accessing NI's Activation server. Please check your internet connection and try again."
Despite this, I checked my connection and it was working very well.

The five hours was like, in the first 30 minutes after the installation begin, the status bar and the percentage of installation was ok, but at a certain moment it stops in some percentage and spend like 3 hours in the same percentage, so, For me it seems the program stop working.

Now I managed to install the 2015 version successfully. But I still have the licensing issue, so I can not run labview properly.

Thanks for helping!

Hi there,

in fact that that information is not truth. There are some AE here in Brazil that had installed the LV 2017 and the LV NXG in a computer that already got the LV 2016 and all the three versions are working properly.

The problem might be with the new version of the Win10. The version 1703 (Creators Update) seems to be blocking all NI installers.

With a quick search you may find out how to downgrade to Windows 10 Version 1607 (Anniversary Update).

I think it worth the try.

I am running LabVIEW 2017 on Windows 10 creators update (1703) without problems.

(And yes, I also have LabVIEW 2016 and 2015 installed)

For additional clarity, both the laptop and workstation I use at work have 2016 and 2017 installed (only the laptop has NXG) and are running 1703. I haven't noticed any problems (but maybe I'm just missing something).

They installed fine for me, but it's worth noting I used the web-based installer and not a USB or pre-packaged installer. Bob Schor mentioned in one of his posts that he used the Academic USB installer, if I recall correctly.

Sorry if I was not clear in my previous post.

I'm not saying that LV (any version) is incompatible with the Windows 10 Version 1703 (Creators Update).

What I'm saying is that the NI installers are having problems.

So if you have installed some NI software before updating to this version of Win 10, you will have no problems.

You might have problem if you update the windows 10 to version 1703 and after that you try to install any NI software.

Thanks,
