the installation of this application may be corrupt

Hello,

I am installing LabVIEW 2015 on the new laptop I just got and it installs with no error messaged but when I try to open it, I get the error "the installation of this application may be corrupt ..." telling me to repair.

I was worried that the LabVIEW version is 32 bit and my laptop is 64 bit but I was able to install and run it with no problems on my previous laptop that I got three years ago which is also a 64bit.

I am trying to repair as suggested but do not have high hopes.

Can you help?

Thank you
Chris

Your new laptop. What OS?

LabVIEW 2015 32bit runs fine under a 64-bit OS, but be aware that 2015 is only compatible with certain versions. See below (I assumed you are using Windows):

https://www.ni.com/en-nz/support/documentation/compatibility/17/labview-and-microsoft-windows-compat...

It may still work on newer OS, but there is no guarantee that there won't be a quirk or two.

My details are windows 10 and LabVIEW 2015 SP1 (see below) so it should be compatible if I am reading your link chart correctly. (I was running the exact same on my older laptop <windows 10> and LV2015 SP1)

I tried to repair as suggested but it encountered problems (shown below). I still rebooted as suggested and upon reboot, tried to open LabView again and got the same error as originally.

My NI update service shows an F10 patch and the NI LabVIEW download page shows an F13 patch but I dont think I want to install them if the main 2015 SP1 install is having problems?

I ran the updater and installed all NI updates including the F10 and F13 patches for LabVIEW but I still get the same error.

I have administrator rights on this computer also.

I uninstalled everything and tried to install without the device driver support but after the reboot I got the same error that it was corrupt.

I also tried to download from National Instruments the LabVIEW 2015 SP1 install file:

https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/downloads/software-products/download.labview.html#306324

but was not able to :

Previous versions are available only to customers with an active standard service program (SSP) membership who have registered their software. Purchase or renew SSP, and register previously purchased software to access locked versions.

Any suggestions would be welcomed

What does NI License Manager have to show?  Do you have a current License?  You will not be able to install 2015SP1 without a current license or Service Support Plan.

I had to use the original install DVD. Now it works.
