Did you mean:

the project already exists and you do not have permission to replace it

I'm attempting to revert a Labview 8 project to Labview 7. I cannot click "Save for pervious version" as its blacked out.

When I save all I get warned I do not have permission to replace it, as the project already exists.

Labview 8, windows XP Service pack 3.

The orginal file is saved to a CD. I don't know if that changes anything.

Well I guess if you were trying to save to it's original location then it wouldn't work as the CD would be read only. You could try copying the project onto your computer first?

According to this page (http://www.ni.com/white-paper/8387/en/) you should be able to save back to LV 7 if you're using LV 8 so I'm not sure why it's greyed out - not something I've had to do.

Projects were introduced in LV 8.0; therfore, you cannot save a project to LV 7.
