Once you are a bit more comfortable programming in LabVIEW, you don't really need any of the palettes present.
Try to learn the keyboard commands, e.g. [tab] toggles between the 4 most used tools and [space] between the two most used tools. It's much faster than finding the palette with the mouse all the time.
If you need the tools palette, just
-[Rightclick] anywhere on the diagram or panel and the tools magically appear right there. Much faster!
Once you upgrade to LabVIEW 7, tool selection is automatic anyway and you only need to [Right-click] at rare occasions, e.g. for the color tool.
(Also the control and function palettes appear whenever you right-click on the panel or diagram respectively. After a new installation, I immedi
ately kill all the palettes. I know how to make them appear right where I need them and I don't have to look for them somewhere on the screen.)
