I have a big problem at work.
I'm working with LV 2009 (no SP, Version 9.0). I can work with it fine, I can build EXEs no problem and I can create installers. But when I try to RUN the installer (even on the same machine) I get error messages saying that I can't access the windows installer service.
I tried manually installing the LV 2009 run-time (downloaded it and tried to install) but the same error message occurs.
Has anyone come accross this before or have a solution to the problem?

The error message (it's in German originally) says it can't access the windows installation service. It then says this can happen if I'm running in safe mode (which I'm not) or if the windows installer is not correctly installed (updates to the installer haven't helped to solve the problem).
Suggestions?

First, try this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315353
Who administers the work computers? Could it be that it is locked down with some policies? Do you have admin privileges?
Also try to reboot. Could it be it was installing updates at the same time in the background?
What happens if you try to install this?
Other things to try:
Check disk for errors.
Do an antivirus scan.
