unable to create opengl context

Hi all,

Have a strange problem with my LV7.1 (500908-01G).  Windows security updates are constantly being pushed to the machines so I don't know when the issue first took place.

Symptoms are : once my test code is loaded and the front panel displayed no icons appear, only the text label that goes with them.

I now also have to force the program to quit as it [and LabView] become unresponsive.

Looking at the error logs I see multiple entries for "DWarn: Unable to Create OpenGL context for 3d controls."

I've found another forum reference to Mesa3D, but upon investigating that I cannot find the necessary Win DLLs.

Any ideas ????

Also, a real quick one : 32bit LabView2010 running on Win7 : can the built application from this Windows version run under XP also ?

For LV 7.1 I would first suggest you try backing down on the graphics accelerator settings.

I went through the graphics acceleration settings reaching the minimum "everything off" state, but this did not cause the icons to return.

Hi Mad Bob,

Can you try a few things so we can pin point the problem better.

- If you hover over where the controls should be do they appear?

- Have you tried removing a control and then replacing it again

- Are you able to run this code in a newer version of LabVIEW?

- What particualr controls/indicators are you using?

- Can you run your code on any other machine that has LabVIEW installed?

Let me know how you get on.

and also your application that was created in Windows 7 will run under XP too. Just make sure you have the right runtime engine installed on the target machine.
