unavailable vi's for imaq

In Labview 6.1, numerous vi's and sub-menus under the motion and vision tab of the functions pallet are unavailable. If i try to edit the pallet they show up but only as large question marks. I can't seem to find out why i can't access these, any suggestions?

Hi Ian,

Thanks for using our discussion forums. Most likely what is causing this problem in LV 6.1 is that either IMAQ or Vision was not installed with proper support for LV 6.1. What VIs in particular are you missing? Were they ever there before? Is this code that you brought in from another system? Try checking your installations and feel free to get in touch if you still need further assistance. We're glad to help you out any time.

I have the same problem: I installed labview 8.0 and IMAQ Vision 7.1.1. The vision folder in the vi.lib folder showed up. In functions pallete I have 2 out of 15 working submenus and 13 question marks. And I go to tools/edit pallete set/ synhronize with directory, and then at least 100 menus show up, many of them containing vi's but with menus saying 'pallete set'? In other words its a mess. It takes forever to find needed vi. This happend long time ago and I dragged it for a long long time, but it always makes me anoyed. In a meantime I reinstalled vision, I reinstalled labview, nothing seemed to help.

I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Nesa--

The reason for the difficulties is that NI-Vision, or Vision Development Module, version 7.1 will not "automatically" install support for LabVIEW 8 since it is a later version.  Please refer to the knowledgebase article below:
