upgraded from Labview 7.1 to 8.0

Hi Abomination,

but why my LabVIEW 8.2 isn't detecting it as drivers CD?

Also no "install drivers" prompt or option is available in 8.2 wizard,it just install LabVIEW software plain .!

Please write down all your requirements! (And not just "I want to waste disk space by installing unneeded stuff"...)

Why don't you use your LV8.2 installation media ( a bunch of CDs) to install LV8.2 with needed drivers?

Best regards,
GerdW

LabVIEW 7.1 has install drivers option in the list while 8.2 one has not and it install Ni max with the default installation occupying a total of 1.2 gb space, i mean LabVIEW 8.2 gets drivers installed by deafult or it needs to get it seperately by CDs?

I don't get your fixation on disk space usage…

Older LabVIEW versions always came with separate "Drivers" CD(s)/DVD(s)…

These are very old versions that came in a package of CDs or DVDs.  I remember having the disk booklets filled with LabVIEW disks, Device Driver disks and the all the optional packages that I chose to buy.  Sometimes there was a main install program that prompted you to insert the next disk, sometimes you had to install everything yourself.  This could be very different between customers and LabVIEW versions.

It's a lot to expect anyone here to know all the installation details of such old software.  One thing I do recall was to always install LabVIEW first, before any optional packages.

These days everything is done with the NI Package Manager.  How to Install NI software using NI Package Manager (NIPM) - NI  I don't know if it works with really old versions though.

Have you tried contacting NI sales?  They will provide you with install media for any software you have a license for and help you decide what is best.

Windows 10 shows my LabVIEW 8.0 folder as being 725Mb with a "size on disk" of 749Mb.  Included in it is a "user.lib" folder (libraries that I've added after the fact) that is 72.3Mb with a size-on-disk of 75.1Mb.

Hi Abomination,

you already got suggestions where you will get installation media - and now you ask us to provide them in an illegal way?

Best regards,
