i am using hardware trigger.
what i want to do is to wait some time after the trigger and only then
start taking points.
how can i do this?

If you look through the DAQ examples that ship with LabVIEW, you will find an example of exactly this.
Look through the code, and you should be able to figure it out pretty easily. Also, you may be able to just use the sample.

AI Trigger Config.vi has a setting for delay.
