Hello All,
After bootup I start Labview then load my program but there are no COM x strings from VISA find resource. As soon as I run MAX the correct strings are then generated ie. COM1 COM3 etc.
I am using Vista and Labview 7.0 professional, VISA 3.0 seen in MAX and after checking whats installed via the Device Driver Ref CD. My problem is that VISA find resource doesnt work until MAX has been started. I need Labview to generate the list of serial ports automatically at startup. Users wont want to fire up MAX and then the program. The string, ASRL[0-9]*::?*INSTR is passed to the expression. Advice appreciated.
Regards Chris

Neither NI-VISA 3.0 nor LabVIEW 7 is compatible with Vista. NI-VISA 4.1 was the first version compatible with Vista. LabVIEW 8.2.1 was the first version compatible with Vista.
