web publishing vi built into installer

Here is a question, I want to build a vi and enable it to be viewed over the internet (I have done this with the LV web server wizard, pretty trivial)  Now I want to build this into an installer so that when the user installs the program it will have web access.  I would also like to have multiple users be able to control the vi over the internet simultaneously.  Anybody have a good resource I can start with?  All thoughts welcome.

Cheers!

Hi Jmcbee,

When you create the installer, be sure to include the VI as well as the html document.  The VI will install with the properties that you set before you built the installer.

If you have the Professional Development System, then five clients can control and view the front panel.  If not, then you will need to purchase a license that allows more clients to connect.  There are not any special settings for multiple clients to connect, so you should be ready to go after transferring the installer.  Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Hello Elizabeth,

Thank you for the info.  Just to clarify, after I have built the installer I can install the program on another computer.  When the .exe is run on the new computer I will be able to access the vi over a webpage with the URL i set, and four other people will also be able to access this page?  Also, if we were to purchase the license for 50 remote panels then 50 people could have control of the vi at once even though it is running on a computer seperate from the one it was built on?  All the new computer needs is the run-time engine?  I do appreciate all of your help!

Cheers,
Jon

It seems that in order for a person to have control over the vi I am publishing that they have to have the labview runtime engine installed on their computer?  Is there a way around this?  Or will each user have to install the runtime engine and then restart their computer?  Any thoughts will be appreciated!!

Cheers,
Jon

Hi Jon,

If you have LabVIEW Full Development System, then five people can connect to the application at one time.  Each of these computers will need to have the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine installed.  If you purchase 50 licenses, then 50 people can connect to the front panel at once, but only one user can have control at a time.
