what are system requirements for labview runtime engine 2011

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

I'm looking for the system requirement for LabVIEW Run Time Engine (2011 version ideally). The only information that I can find just states what operating systems it supports. I am wanting to check the specification for a target (a Touch Panel Computer - probably running Windows XP Embedded), to allow this to run. Specifically the amount of non-volatile system storage needed - as we will need to specify a CompactFlash card. Clearly the application exe will take some space as will XPe, but I'm wanting to know about the needs of RTE.

Not sure about complact flash..  I can't remember seeing it in the relase notes, but follow the link below for the manual:

It should support the touch screen (I can't remember if you still need an extra plugin for that... I'll check).

look at page 2, middle column

or shown below are the basic requirements:

Have a look at this thread where they discuss touch panels:

And this link which describes how to run LabVIEW on Windows XP Embedded.

Yuo will notice that it mentions:  "Using LabVIEW with Windows XP Embedded is unsupported. The exceptions are, Windows XP Embedded is supported for use with the LabVIEW Touch Panel Module."

From what I read LabVIEW Touch Panel Module is extra and requires licenses.

Ray - many thanks for the speedy answer. Perfect. We have used the LV TPC Module to create executables for other third party TPCs. It was just the disk space requirement I was unsure about.

Typically, you would mark the most helpful post as solution, not your own thank you post. You can change it.
